Work-work-work!

My Mantra: "Be happy you have a job, be happy you have a job... be happy...."

Trying! It's hard to stay awake, let alone smile (i.e. be happy) when I have this mountain of work to do! I plug along entering names, addresses, phone numbers, email info, assigning mail codes... removing folks no longer active in the local church, trying my best to decipher the scribblings on our forms... and the odd-ball forms others make up for me. The stacks of forms seem to multiply over night. I feel like I'm floundering here!

I'd love to know how other organizations such as our maintain all their mailing lists... there has GOT TO BE an easier way!

While it's frustrating to be interrupted dozens of times per day, I guess that's what's keeping me breathing through all of this. Sad thing is... by the time I get 2011 done, 2012 lists will start coming in... and we start all over again. Not to mention the fun it is to move clergy (and their spouses) around effective July 1... it's a domino effect. I need a clear head to play that game accurately!

THE BASIC RULES FOR CLOTHESLINES:

(if you don't know what clotheslines are, better skip this)

1. You had to wash the clothes line before hanging any clothes - walk the entire lengths of each line with a damp cloth around the lines.

2. You had to hang the clothes in a certain order, and always hang "whites" with "whites," and hang them first.

3. You never hung a shirt by the shoulders - always by the tail!. What would the neighbors think?

4.. Wash day on a Monday! . ... . Never hang clothes on the weekend, or Sunday, for Heaven's sake!

5. Hang the sheets and towels on the outside lines so you could hide your "unmentionables" in the middle (perverts & busybodies, y'know!)

6. It didn't matter if it was sub zero weather ... Clothes would "freeze-dry."

7. Always gather the clothes pins when taking down dry clothes! Pins left on the lines were "tacky!"

8. If you were efficient, you would line the clothes up so that each item did not need two clothes pins, but shared one of the clothes pins with the next washed item.

9. Clothes off of the line before dinner time, neatly folded in the clothes basket, and ready to be ironed.

10. IRONED?! Well, that's a whole other subject!

Pi Day

I hope everyone is having a great PI Day! My family enjoyed a wonderful meal of homemade pizza PI yesterday... everything from scratch and absolutely delicious! Pi Heaven on earth!

Dad... this day's for you! :) One of so many Grogan Family traditions!!!

Hour!

I want that hour back! I've been at work way too long today!

And I want a nap!!!
