Gifts for the OLD

I can't escape it. My 60th birthday looms just days ahead.

Family has been asking me what I want for my birthday. The truth is, by the time you reach my age, it's hard to think of ANYTHING you want, need, desire, wish for, hope for, dream of!

I have accumulated all the gizmos and gadgets, trinkets and treasures over the past 60 years that anyone could hope to have! I have more than I need!

I am blessed with good health, a loving family, a warm and comfortable home. Really - what more could anyone want?

If you are so determined to GIVE me something, give me your time. Let me have the JOY of sharing precious minutes with you. Share your day with me! Tell me of the happiness in your life! Let me experience the beauty of the person you are and the way you fit into my life. Let me feel your success. Make me something so I can see your creative skills. Write me a poem. Draw me a picture or better yet, just keep on loving me!

God and you have given me all that I need or ever hope for!

Dear iPad,

Happy birthday to MY iPad! You came into my life a year ago, and we've been best friends ever since! I didn't discover the wonders of DRAWING on you for several months, but since then - WOW! You and I have worked together to create well over 300 drawings.

This drawing tested my skills with you and the app (ArtStudio) as I copied and pasted a bunch of drawings together - I added you in the foreground with my finger dancing about creating this image for my buddy Mike.

Other than the 1-0n-1 time with you, I've enjoyed truck YouTubes with our grandson, tea parties and assorted games with the granddaughters. You are a great little "cuddle up with Grandma" and "get Toony drawing" gadget!

LOVE YOU, little iPad!!!

BACK to school!

A chiropractor in town ran a clinic when school started about back-pack issues... made me want to draw this picture.
